OBITUARY NOTICE Mr. Thomas Jones, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Christiana Hospital. He was 57. Mr. Jones was born in Milford, DE to Arthur and F. Elaine Jones. Tommy worked at E. I. DuPont in Seaford for 25 years and owned and operated Tom Jones Lawn Service. After retiring from DuPont in 2006 he took over the family business, Jones Boys Septic Service and continued to operate Tom Jones Lawn Service and family farm as well. Tommy not only had a deep love for all of his family and would do anything for them but he loved helping people and his community. His first love was the fire company. The fire service was his second home, where he spent much of his time helping and mentoring others in the fire service and seeing fellow firefighters succeed. His true love was his wife of 35 years and family, especially his children, and granddaughter. He taught them just a little bit of everything, as he was a jack of all trades. He would help anyone and everyone in need and gave selflessly of himself to help or improve others’ lives. Tommy will be sadly missed by all. Tommy belonged to the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 INC where he was a member for 41 years, Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association, Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association, and Delaware State Fire Chief’s Association. Throughout the years, he has held several positions at the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co., where the longest position he held was Fire Chief. He was a member of the Greenwood Lions Club. And he was a faithful member of Living Life Fellowship Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his in-laws Robert and Betty Jory. He is survived by his wife Robin Jones; sons, Chad (Cassi) Jones, Zach (Jennifer) Jones; his mother, F. Elaine Jones; his sister, Susanne (Cliff) Foskey; Granddaughter Aubrey Jones. Services will take place at the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company, 12611 Fire Hall Ave., Greenwood, DE, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1 PM with a visitation starting at 10 AM. Interment will be at St. Johnstown Cemetery, in Greenwood DE. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an organization or charity of your choice, in Honor of Tommy Jones. Arrangements are by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood, DE.
